Kerry has spent 28 years in youth work and the relationships, sex, and health education world and she is still as passionate as ever about helping people of all ages understand their bodies, relationships, and health. Her drive comes from her lived experience: once a teen mum, NEET, and navigating life through grief, loss, parenting, and divorce, She has turned every challenge into fuel for supporting others to build their confidence, resilience, and empowerment.
“I became a sex educator back in 1997, working within Local Authority on the national 10-year Teenage Pregnancy Strategy. From there I delivered RSE in schools across the country, ran sexual health clinics across Greater Manchester, and co-created award-winning projects like Balls and Boobs raising awareness around testicular and breast cancer in ways that actually connected with young people.
In 2011, I stepped away from the security of my job to explore solo ventures. Since then, I’ve worked with Beatbullying, Teens and Toddlers, the Home Office, and the Department of Health. Alongside being in the classroom and community, I’ve written countless curriculums and classroom resources, and in 2022 I had published my first book: Relationships, Sex and Health Education 101: Activity Toolkit for Working with Young People Aged 11+.
When I’m not talking about vulva being in your vocab and all that jazz, you’ll find me living my best life, with the people I love, clubbing, dancing, shopping, cooking, travelling, walking my sausage dog Rio, cheering on Manchester United & posting on Instagram.”
