Well, here I am a city girl in the heart of Worsley, having spent the last 5 years in Media City moving to Worsley has been a bit of a change. It’s peaceful, it’s quiet, but oh my goodness, it’s also a pain in the absolute ass when it comes to traffic (and I don’t even drive) and commuting to work FML guys!
I used to roll out of bed and have caramel latte on tap. Now, I’m in this really adorable village where I can’t get seem to get even a sniff of a latte until a cafe opens which is like 10 o clock. Moaning aside though, there’s something charming about the whole thing and I suppose, I’m learning to slow down… even if my 7 am cravings for coffee aren’t exactly being met!
The upside, to this change, I embarked on about 6 months ago is that I have a beautiful 4-bedroom home to share with our blended family. The space is perfect for everyone, there is plenty of room for the kids, the dog (who’s living his best life), and enough space for me to finally get my own corner for a quiet coffee (even if I have to brew it myself!).

Now, let’s talk about Worsley’s hidden gems. A 10k walk from Boothstown to Worsley Golf Course and back is a lovely way to start the weekend. The route takes you along the Bridgewater Canal, which is really quite peaceful and scenic anda refreshing change from the busy streets of media city. Along the way, we’ve got a quaint little cafe by the water that’s always full of charm. Not only do they serve coffee (finally!), but there’s fresh flowers and a cute puppuccino for Rio.
When it comes to food, Worsley really holds its own too. There is the Coal and Cotton, which is fantastic for an evening meal. Mason’s Bar is also a great spot with 2-for-1 cocktails and live entertainment. And a little walk up the road you can find Leopard Pie and their really top notch pizzas.

But you know what I’ve really noticed about Worsley? The people. Everyone is really friendly, always up for a chat, and just generally kindhearted. That said, if I could pick up Worsley and move it just a bit closer to the hustle and bustle of the city, I’d be a very happy girl. Until then, I’m embracing the slower life, the quirky cafes, and the peace and quiet (even if it’s a little too quiet for my usual city girl soul!).
