Sometimes, life gets a bit too hectic, and a cheeky weekend getaway is just what you need to reset. After moving home in December and juggling life’s curve balls, me and Carl really needed a little escape. So last weekend we headed off to Barcelona for my first visit, and it was exactly what we needed to recharge.
We arrived and immediately dived into the heart of the city. Our first stop? Pacha Barcelona. I mean, when in Barcelona, right? It was a great way to kick off our little break, and the vibrant club scene had us dancing into the night. But we didn’t just come for the nightlife this was an adventure packed with culture, great food, and lots of fun.
One of the most magical experiences of the weekend was watching live music at Casa Batlló. The venue itself is breathtaking, and the performance was one of those moments you can’t quite put into words. The architecture is something you have to see to believe, and I felt like I was walking through a living piece of art.
We couldn’t leave Barcelona without visiting the iconic Sagrada Família. The grandeur of Gaudí’s masterpiece is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Afterward, we watched some of the vibrant street entertainers nearby.
The city’s energy actually reminded me too much of Manchester, and for me not in the good ways, it was a little like Market Street (sorry). The paella we had wasn’t even great. Barcelona as beautiful as the building were, wasn’t the place for me, the hotel was great though so will not forget to give this place a mention.

A little away from the hustle but easy enough to transport in and out. With sleek rooms, stunning views, and exceptional service, the Orangina Hotel was a fantastic place to unwind. Check out their socials for updates on events and offers, as they’re always hosting something exciting for guests to enjoy. Whether you’re in Barcelona for a quick getaway or a longer stay, this hotel has everything you need for a relaxing yet stylish experience.
Until next time, Barcelona!
