Yesterday, Carl took me on a date to the brand-new San Carlo in Alderley Edge, which had officially opened its doors on 17th August. With the sun shining down, it was the perfect setting for a weekend day date, good food and great company.

San Carlo’s newest spot in Alderley Edge is effortlessly stylish, it boast sleek interiors, a buzzing atmosphere, and that signature Italian charm. As soon as we walked in, we knew we were in for something special. The scent of fresh pasta, rich sauces, and garlic filled the air, setting the tone for a great meal.
We started with a bottle of red wine, which only enhanced the relaxed, sun-soaked afternoon vibes. For mains, Carl opted for the Penne Arrabbiata, short tubes of pasta in a fiery tomato sauce packed with chilli and garlic, while I had the Pappardelle all’Anatra, long ribbons of egg pasta coated in a slow-cooked, rich duck ragú. Each bite was indulgent, the perfect mix of comfort and flavour.
After dinner, we took a stroll down London Road, which is the heart of Alderley Edge’s social scene, where people-watching is practically a sport. Supercars lined the street, with car spotters in their droves (I don’t get it either, but each to their own) and we soaked in the buzzing atmosphere.

Not quite ready to call it a night, we hopped on the train back to Manchester, where we ended our evening at Ménagerie, adding a little extra sparkle to an already perfect date. Good food, good wine, good company, weekends like this are what makes life so much fun. Here’s to more sun-filled dates, great meals, and making mems x
