We were already in the US, so us being us, decided on a cheeky side-trip to Chicago! So after the tiring and amazing few days of work! I know!!!! We hopped on a flight and flew from Minneapolis to O’Hare Airport and landed in the city of deep-dish pizza and skyscraper dreams! I felt like I was in a movie!

We planned nothing much, just a few days of relaxation after a busy schedule and so we stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago – Magnificent Mile which has a rooftop pool included, and we wanted to feel like millionaires for two nights. The plan was to chill, read, few cocktails around the pool…but yeah, right. we let the girly chaos begin.

We hit up Color Factory for some Instagrammable fun, and took a walk up to the Millennium Park take pics with the Cloud Gate (aka The Bean, im not sure why) and strolled down the lakefront to soak up views of Lake Michigan, stopping at one of the beaches.

For dinner, it wasnt going to be anthing else but a chicago deep dish and we we opted for Lou Malnati’s It was pure cheesy heaven.

At the night we fancied some glam and so we dolled up and took an evening walk across the river side, seeing The Art on the Mart, and then cocktails and dinner at Beatnik on the River.

We spent the morning making use of the hotel, before squeezing in a boat ride over the lake and a few cheeky negroni at Trump Tower Rooftop.

So those few of planned chill, actually finished up being packed full with laughter, pizza, art, and cocktails…Chicago, you were perfect. Until next time, it’s back to reality… kind of.
